Our Services

What is your goal in the field of medical coding? We have the services to help you get certified!

SMCC provides Medical Billing (coding, charge entry, payment posting, and patient account) services to private practices.
Medical coding professionals provide a key step in the medical billing process. Every time a patient receives professional health care in a physician's office, hospital outpatient facility, or ambulatory surgical center (ASC), the provider must document the services provided. The medical coder will abstract the information from the documentation, assign the appropriate codes, and create a claim to be paid, whether by a commercial payer, the patient, or CMS.

Our Medical Coding Training class is a 6 month program that covers the beginning (medical Terminology) to the end (mock exam).
This 3 month class will review the fundamental medical coding skills for an outpatient physician setting and prepares the student to take the CPC exam. Students will have a broad knowledge in reviewing and assigning the correct procedure and diagnosis codes for physician services. The class will review Medical Terminology, ICD-9, CPT, HCPS, and Operative Report coding.

Upon completion, you will qualify to seat for your CPC certification exam.
SMCCC's medical terminology course is a 3 month course and is ideal for students who have never studied medical terminology or for those who want to improve their knowledge in this area. This course introduces the student to the medical terminology used in the medical coding and reimbursement profession and covers medical terminology from a coder's perspective. This course would be valuable for anyone preparing for a career in any non-clinical medical profession and is strongly recommended for anyone who is taking the CPC or CPC-H preparation courses or preparing for any AAPC certification examination.

Upon completion of this class you will be ready to get started with Medical Billing and/or Coding.
This class is designed to provide attendees with a high-level overview and understanding of ICD-10. The training is ideal for administrators, clinical staff, front office, ancillary staff, and others needing ICD-10 awareness and a basic understanding of ICD-10 but who are not directly involved in implementation, coding, and/or clinical documentation activities. The training is an excellent resource to help build organizational awareness of ICD-10 and support around implementation efforts that will be needed to transition. Upon completion of this class you will have the necessary foundation to move forward in this major coding change.
The Medical Billing Course is aimed at providing the most up-to-date information relating to the health insurance industry and different reimbursement methodologies for correct claim submission. Successful completion will prepare the student to sit for the medical billing exam and work in a medical billing department at a physician's office, clinic, facility, other healthcare entity, or as a claims examiner for insurance carriers.

This is a 6 month course. Upon completion, you will qualify to sit for the medical billing exam.
